Goa Group Tour Package from Mumbai: Trains, Flights, Itinerary and Group Pricing
Planning a Goa group tour package from Mumbai for your office team, housing society, friends' circle, club or college batch? Mumbai is one of the easiest cities in India to take a group to Goa from — there are daily trains down the Konkan coast, frequent short flights and a direct highway. This guide explains how a group trip from Mumbai actually works: the travel options, the best months, a realistic 4-day itinerary, what a package includes, and how pricing works for different group sizes.
Who This Goa Group Tour Package from Mumbai Is For
Group trips have very different needs from a couple or family holiday. Rooms must be blocked together, everyone needs to move on one vehicle, meals should be fixed so nobody waits, and one person usually ends up coordinating payments. This package is designed for:
Office teams and departments going on an outing or informal offsite
Friends' groups, reunion and alumni groups of 10 people or more
Housing societies, clubs and community associations
College and student groups (with a coordinator or faculty member travelling along)
Extended family groups travelling together for a celebration
If your trip is a formal company event with meetings, a conference hall or a gala dinner, see our Goa corporate event organiser page — the planning is different.
How to Travel from Mumbai to Goa as a Group
By train (most popular for groups)
Konkan Railway connects Mumbai with Goa along the coast. Trains from Mumbai stop at Thivim (convenient for North Goa beaches) and Madgaon (for South Goa). The Vande Bharat Express covers the route in around 8 hours as a day train; other trains such as the Tejas, Jan Shatabdi, Mandovi and the overnight Konkan Kanya take roughly 9–12 hours. Overnight trains are popular with groups because you save a night of hotel cost and arrive ready for the day.
Group tip: online IRCTC bookings allow only a limited number of passengers per ticket, so large groups are usually split across several PNRs booked at the same time. Reservations open a fixed number of days before travel (currently 60 days), and peak-season trains fill fast — keep names, ages and ID details ready in advance.
By flight (fastest)
Direct flights from Mumbai to Goa take roughly an hour. Goa has two airports — Dabolim (GOI), which is central and closer to South Goa, and Manohar International at Mopa (GOX) in the north. For groups, choose the airport closest to your hotel, because a 1–2 hour coach transfer at the other end changes your first-day plan. Group fares can be requested from airlines for larger groups, but early individual bookings are often cheaper for small groups.
By road (coach or tempo traveller)
Mumbai to Goa is roughly 550–600 km depending on the route, which usually means 10–12 hours or more on the road. A chartered coach makes sense when the group wants the same vehicle for the whole trip, or is travelling with lots of luggage or equipment. For most groups, train or flight to Goa plus a local coach in Goa is more comfortable.
Best Time for a Group Trip to Goa
November to February: Pleasant weather and the full range of beach activities. Peak season — book hotels and trains early, especially around Christmas and New Year.
October and March: Shoulder months. Good weather, and hotels are usually easier to block for a big group.
April and May: Hot and humid, but quieter and good value. Plan beach time in the mornings and evenings.
June to September (monsoon): Lush and green with lower hotel rates, but most sea water sports pause and some beach shacks close. Good for budget groups who want a relaxed stay rather than beach activities.

Day 4 – Leisure and departure: Free morning for shopping or a boat trip (dolphin spotting or Grande Island in season), checkout and drop for your train or flight back to Mumbai.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do most groups travel from Mumbai to Goa?
Most groups take a Konkan Railway train (day trains like Vande Bharat take around 8 hours, other day and overnight trains roughly 9–12 hours) or a direct flight of about an hour to Dabolim or Mopa airport. Very large or budget-focused groups sometimes take a chartered coach, which is a long road journey of 10–12 hours or more.
What is the starting price of a Goa group tour package from Mumbai?
Yatra King's Goa group packages start from ₹4,500 per person for the ground package on twin or triple sharing. Train or flight tickets from Mumbai are quoted separately because fares change with dates and how early you book.
What is the minimum group size for a group package?
We plan group trips from around 10 travellers upwards, and regularly handle larger office, society and college groups. Bigger groups make it easier to book a private coach and negotiate hotel blocks.
When should a Mumbai group book a Goa trip?
For November to February and long weekends, start planning 6–8 weeks ahead. Railway reservations open a limited number of days before travel (currently 60 days on IRCTC), so groups travelling by train should be ready with the passenger list as soon as booking opens.
Can we get a GST invoice for an office or society group?
Yes. Yatra King issues a proper GST invoice (GSTIN 07BCCPS6983D2Z9) in your company's or organisation's name, which most finance teams need for reimbursement or accounting.
